Let's take a look at one of our more complex projects in Dorking, Surrey. Led by an interior designer with a bold vision for transforming this mid-century home into a modern and open space our team have completely gutted the interior, dug out a basement space and are in the process of building up the rear extension.

The basement was underpinned in stages, with reinforcement, shuttering, concrete pours and dry packing carefully sequenced. Falls were formed in the new slab to direct water beneath the future membrane, while the rear extension’s steel frame, masonry and arched openings took shape above.

More recently, the focus has shifted to coordination: underfloor-heating boards and pipework, electrical positions, basement tanking and the plumbing layout were considered together. Particular attention was given to the brick arch above the bath, preserving an architectural feature while reviewing its structural requirements.
