In 2025 we were appointed main contractor by Alex Dauley for her room Wow!House at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour. The room was one of the most talked about and impactful spaces ever created at the event, and following its success we returned in 2026, this time for Russell Sage Studio.

Russell founded the company and leads it, bringing building trades, project management and commercial experience together in one team. Some clients arrive with an architect, a designer and a full set of drawings. Others know what the house needs but not yet how to get there. A question about the site, the programme and the cost is answered by people working from the same understanding of your project, rather than passed between them.A building does not divide neatly into trades. A new opening can affect the structure, the glazing, the floor and the services around it, so we organise the work around those connections. We establish the scope and the construction questions it raises, plan the sequence that the building and the available information will allow, and consider structure, services, joinery and finishes together. Anything that affects the design goes back to the architect, designer or specialist responsible for it, and the agreed answer is carried into the work. Progress, open questions and agreed changes are recorded so the team can work from them. Managing the construction is our role; where you have appointed an independent project manager or contract administrator, we work alongside them.
A building project asks you to make decisions about your home, your time and your money, and each one should arrive with an explanation: what needs choosing, why it matters, what it changes and when the answer is needed. That applies to the quotation as much as to the work. We explain the scope it covers, the information it is based on, the allowances and assumptions it carries and the items still open, so you can judge the figure on the work and the responsibility included in it.Once we are on site, the conversation stays on your project. Progress is not always the most visible change in a room — preparation, service routes and checks can matter more than the arrival of the finishes — so our updates set out what has been completed, what is in progress, what remains open and what needs your attention, with the reason and the person taking the next action. The level of detail and the reporting arrangements are agreed for your project, so the information is useful without asking you to manage the build yourself. When something changes, whether a design decision or a condition uncovered in the building, we explain what has changed and what it affects before asking you to decide. We do not describe something as a minor issue before its implications are understood.The work affects the people living around it as well as the building. Access, deliveries, noise, protection and the condition of the site are agreed before we start and stay part of the job throughout. At completion, the handover makes plain what is finished, what is still open, who is dealing with it and how to raise a matter afterwards.

Either is a reasonable place to begin, and a finished design is not a condition of getting in touch. If you have not appointed anyone, tell us about the property, how you use it and what is not working; we can talk through the next step and recommend architects and interior designers we have built with. If your team is already in place, we join them — send the current drawings and tell us how far the design and approvals have got. Where an early construction review is useful and agreed, we look at access, sequence, materials and the practical implications of the scheme while it is still developing, and we are clear about the task before undertaking detailed work.When there is enough to price, we review the drawings, specification, surveys and any specialist information available, and identify what is still needed before a figure means anything. Where a choice remains open, the quotation shows the allowance or assumption being used, so unfinished decisions stay visible instead of disappearing into a total.From there we take the project through preparation, construction, any changes along the way and completion: site arrangements and the decisions needed for the opening stages, the build itself, and a handover with the aftercare arrangements agreed for your project.
