Tucked away on Rookfield Close in Muswell Hill, this early 20th-century home underwent a comprehensive refurbishment, combining modern comfort and performance with the character of its original architecture.
The project centred around creating a bright, spacious family kitchen, alongside a complete upgrade of the home’s services, interiors and structural fabric. The rear of the property was stripped back and rebuilt with a new steel frame, insulated extension and carefully selected heritage-style windows and rooflights, bringing natural light into the heart of the home.
Working alongside kitchen specialists Harvey Jones, our team prepared and coordinated every element of the new kitchen installation. Underfloor heating, upgraded insulation and refined architectural detailing ensured the space was as comfortable and practical as it was beautiful.
Throughout the rest of the property, we carried out a full electrical and plumbing upgrade, installed new heating systems, engineered timber flooring and acoustic insulation, refurbished bathrooms and introduced bespoke joinery across the bedrooms, study and living areas.
Particular care was taken to preserve the building’s original character. Existing timber windows were restored and upgraded, brickwork was repaired using traditional lime mortar, and essential repairs were made to the roof, chimneys and cellar. External terraces and pathways were also refreshed with improved paving and drainage.
Working closely with the architect, structural engineer and interior designer, we delivered a cohesive transformation of the property, balancing the practical demands of contemporary family life with the craftsmanship and architectural sensitivity of a period home.
